Sucker Punch Productions has officially confirmed that the multiplayer component of "Ghost of Yotei," known as "Legends," has received its final major update. The "Raid" update, released on April 10th, marks the end of planned significant content additions for the mode, concluding the narrative arc of the Yōtei Six.
Final major update: April 10
Sucker Punch says the "Raid" update was the last planned major content drop for "Ghost of Yotei Legends."
Lead designer Darren Bridges shared the news via PlayStation.Blog, stating that the "Raid update was our last major planned update for Legends." He expressed gratitude for the player community's engagement with the mode. The update itself focused on concluding the story of the Yōtei Six within the Legends experience.
"Ghost of Yotei" launched for the PlayStation 5 on October 2nd, 2025. The "Legends" mode was later announced as a free DLC in February of this year, with its release following on March 10th. The decision to cease major updates just two months after the mode's launch has raised questions, especially considering the developer's history with "Ghost of Tsushima Legends." That mode received substantial support and new content, including standalone versions and additional game modes like "Rivals," long after its initial release in October 2020.
| Mode | Launch timing | Support pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Ghost of Yotei Legends | Announced in February, released March 10, final major update April 10 | Major content wrapped up within about two months of launch |
| Ghost of Tsushima Legends | Initially released in October 2020 | Received extended support, standalone availability, and additions like "Rivals" |
"Ghost of Yotei" itself was a popular PS5 exclusive, reportedly contributing significantly to Sony's financial results. IGN awarded the game an 8/10 at launch, praising its predictable yet well-executed story, fluid action, and stunning visuals, calling it a "great distillation of the samurai fantasy."
While major content updates are concluding, Sucker Punch has not clarified how long "Ghost of Yotei Legends" will continue to receive smaller patches for essential bug fixes and balancing adjustments.
