A new featurette, "Heroes of Eternia," offers fans a glimpse into the upcoming live-action "Masters of the Universe" film, set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026. The video delves into the backstory of Eternia and introduces the key players in this epic adventure.
Directed by Travis Knight, the film reimagines the beloved 80s franchise for a new generation. The story follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, who is reunited with the Sword of Power after a 15-year separation. He returns to a devastated Eternia, now under the tyrannical grip of Skeletor, portrayed by Jared Leto.
To reclaim his home and family, Prince Adam must embrace his destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe. He will need to unite with his trusted allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba). The featurette also highlights other cast members, including Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley. Kristen Wiig lends her voice to "Roboto," and the ensemble also features the talents of Anya Taylor-Joy and Ben Kingsley.
The screenplay is credited to Chris Butler and Aaron Nee & Adam Nee & Dave Callaham, with the story developed by Aaron Nee & Adam Nee and Alex Litvak & Michael Finch. The film is based on Mattel's iconic "Masters of the Universe" property. The production is overseen by producers Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and DeVon Franklin, with Ynon Kreiz, Bill Bannerman, and David Bloomfield serving as executive producers.
