Jeep has officially unveiled the facelifted Avenger for the European market, introducing a series of significant updates designed to enhance its appeal. The compact crossover now boasts a more sophisticated exterior, a notably upgraded interior with premium materials, and the introduction of a new, more potent turbocharged engine option. These revisions aim to position the Avenger as a more competitive and upscale offering in its segment.
The updated Jeep Avenger features a refreshed front fascia, including a new grille design reminiscent of the Compass, with higher trims offering illumination. The crossover also receives new bumpers, restyled LED matrix headlights, and updated 17- and 18-inch wheels featuring center caps with a stylized Willy's MB logo. The color palette has been expanded with two new options: Forest and Bamboo. Jeep also claims optimized approach, departure, and breakover angles, reaching up to 22°, 35°, and 21° respectively.
Addressing previous criticisms of its interior quality, Jeep has significantly upgraded the Avenger's cabin. The lower dashboard is now padded, and new soft-touch materials adorn the door panels. Higher trim levels, such as Altitude and Summit, benefit from more luxurious cloth and vinyl upholstery. The 4xe variant now comes with unique, washable, and durable green interiors. The Selec-Terrain controller has been refined with a rubber-coated lever and a red base, and an additional front camera has been integrated to support a 360° surround-view system.
Under the hood, the facelifted Avenger introduces a new turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that delivers 99 hp and 151 Nm of torque. This engine features a revised block, pistons, rings, a high-pressure direct injection system, and new valve timing to reduce internal friction, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Customers can also opt for a 108 hp hybrid powertrain, which utilizes a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated electric motor powered by a 0.9 kWh battery, allowing for short-distance electric-only driving at low speeds. The all-wheel-drive Avenger 4xe boasts a combined output of 143 hp. The fully electric version remains available with a 54 kWh battery pack and a 154 hp motor, offering a WLTP range of up to 249 miles, though its 100 kW DC fast charging capability is noted as somewhat underwhelming.
Jeep is also launching a special "85th Anniversary Edition" based on the Altitude or Upland trims. This edition is distinguished by unique fender badging, golden accents on the bumpers and 18-inch wheels, and an illuminated grille. 4xe variants of this edition include a hood decal. Inside, the anniversary model features Tartan seats with gold stitching, "85" logos on the backrests, multi-colored ambient lighting, and an "85" logo on the center console.
