Audi has offered the first official look at its upcoming Q9 flagship SUV, showcasing a lavish interior designed to set new benchmarks in space and exclusivity. Set to be fully unveiled on July 29th, the Q9 is poised to become Audi's most expansive and opulent model to date, effectively stepping into the role of an indirect successor to the recently discontinued A8 limousine. This new luxury vehicle is expected to command a price point starting around or just above £100,000 when it arrives in showrooms later this year.
The Q9's design philosophy clearly prioritizes the comfort and experience of rear-seat occupants, aligning with its positioning as an upmarket executive vehicle. The initial images highlight a spacious cabin adorned with plush executive seating, underscoring this commitment. Audi has detailed several standout features, including automatic doors for effortless entry and exit, a substantial 1.5 cubic meter panoramic roof with switchable transparency, and the use of luxurious materials such as alpaca fiber and nappa leather. For those opting for the six-seat configuration, the second row will boast electronically adjustable, heated, and ventilated seats.
While rear passengers are a primary focus, those in the front are not overlooked. The driver and front passenger will have access to three digital screens: an 11.9-inch instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen. The cabin also features an all-new center console equipped with two wireless charging pads and generously sized cupholders capable of holding one-liter bottles.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner emphasized the vehicle's role as a "mobile living space," stating, "Premium materials, variable seating with individual electric seats in the second row and automatic doors underscore the commitment to quality in our new, large full-size SUV."
