Chinese robotics company Unitree has unveiled its latest and most ambitious project, the GD01. Design and Technical Specifications

The GD01 stands at an impressive height of approximately 3 meters (10 feet) and has a substantial mass, weighing around half a ton. Its most notable technical feature is its ability to transform. The robot can operate in a bipedal, humanoid form and can also convert to a more stable quadrupedal configuration by pivoting its torso and using its arms as front legs. This dual-mode functionality suggests a design focused on adaptability across different terrains or tasks.

The robot is operated by a human pilot situated in an open-air cockpit. The design of the control station appears minimalist, which raises considerations regarding operator comfort and protection during extended use or in adverse conditions.
