The Bioreactor is an essential facility for generating a consistent power supply for your base in Subnautica 2. It converts organic materials into energy, keeping your operations running smoothly. To construct it, you must first find and scan three of its fragments scattered across the ocean floor.
Bioreactor fragments are primarily located in wreckage sites within the Shallows region. While there are many fragments, you only need to scan three to acquire the blueprint. Here are several reliable locations, using your Lifepod as a starting point:
| Location | Direction from Lifepod | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Colonist Bunker | About 400 meters southeast | Follow the Chap blackbox signal, dive into the tunnel near the Giant Coral Crab, and scan the fragment inside the bunker. |
| Old Habitat | About 400 meters north-northeast | Enter through the rear hatch and check the side chamber for the ruined Bioreactor piece. |
| Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage) | About 380 meters east-northeast | Swim into the main hold to find a fragment beside a Tadpole fragment. |
| Southwest Wreckage | About 370 meters southwest | Look around the wreckage marked by numerous Surge Jellies. |
Once you have scanned three fragments, you can build the Bioreactor using the Habitat Builder. It is located in the "Interior Facilities" tab.
Crafting Materials:
After construction, you can add biodegradable resources, such as alien fish or plants, to the Bioreactor to generate power. The unit has two operational modes:
Generates +10 energy per second and consumes fuel at a standard rate.
Generates +20 energy per second but uses up fuel much faster.
With the Bioreactor operational, you will have a reliable power source for your base. For further energy needs, consider exploring other power-generating structures like the Hydroelectric Turbine and the Thermal Plant.
