Xbox is rolling out a new visual system designed to honor the dedication of its most committed players. The introduction of tiered Gamerscore badges will allow users to showcase their accumulated achievements over more than two decades of gaming directly on their profiles and within the Xbox Guide. These badges will evolve with a player's total Gamerscore, featuring increasingly elaborate designs that signify milestones reached, from initial achievements to the elite ranks of millions of points.
The new badges are designed to evolve alongside a player's Gamerscore. From those just starting out with their first thousand points to dedicated achievement hunters surpassing five million, each player will receive a distinctive badge recognizing their effort. A special badge is even reserved for those who achieve the impressive milestone of 10 million Gamerscore, a target already being pursued by some players nearing 8.5 million.
This update is beginning to roll out to Xbox Insiders today and will become available to all users in the coming weeks. Alongside the badges, the update introduces a new console startup experience, complete with updated animations and sounds that feature the iconic green Xbox logo. This new design can also be selected as a gamerpic or dynamic background.
Another practical addition is a set of new filters for the game library. These filters will make it easier to identify downloaded games that are no longer accessible, such as titles that have left the Game Pass catalog. This marks the second wave of new features in just two months, indicating a renewed focus on community-requested enhancements under the new leadership of Xbox's Asha Sharma. These improvements, alongside preparations for the next generation of consoles under the codename Project Helix, aim to strengthen the current player experience and keep gamers motivated.
With badges celebrating dedication, a more visually appealing startup, and useful tools for managing game collections, Xbox is reinforcing its current offerings while building towards the future of the brand.
