A standard-looking black Lexus LX 700 has been dramatically upgraded by Miami Armored, turning the luxury SUV into a formidable security vehicle capable of withstanding significant threats. This heavily modified LX 700 is designed to offer unparalleled protection, including resistance to grenade blasts and high-powered rifle fire, without compromising its luxurious appeal.
Miami Armored, in collaboration with Canadian specialists Inkas, has equipped the Lexus LX 700 with comprehensive ballistic protection. The SUV's body panels have been reinforced to withstand 7.62 mm rifle rounds, such as those from an AK-47. Crucially, the vehicle is engineered to survive two hand grenade blasts, thanks to a 360-degree perimeter protection system.
Beyond the exterior, the armoring process includes the installation of ballistic glass throughout the cabin. Armor plates have been added to critical areas like the fuel tank, engine bay, and battery to prevent incapacitation from targeted shots. The rear bulkhead and hinges have also been reinforced, and an overlap system is integrated across panels to seal any potential entry points for bullets. Runflat tires are standard, ensuring mobility even after sustaining damage.
Despite the extensive armor, Miami Armored states that the added weight has a negligible impact on the LX 700's performance. The vehicle retains its original powertrain: a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid engine producing 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. A range of optional upgrades are available for clients seeking even greater security and functionality, including:
